In 2016, the International University officially established the undergraduate Space Engineering training course according to decision No. 261/QD-ĐHQG dated April 14, 2016, of the Director of VNU-HCM. The 4-year program trains engineers in the application of satellite technology, including signal processing and analysis, satellite imagery, remote sensing technology, and satellite navigation. The program was born to meet the huge demand for highly qualified human resources in the application of satellite technology in social life, management of natural resources, environment, territory, security, and defense. Since then, the department have some important milestones:
- 14/04/2016: The establishment of Space Engineering
- 20/04/2016: The Space Engineering major trains the first patch with 12 students link
- 2020: The graduation of first patch in Space Engineering
- 2022: Space Engineering is promoting the education of knowledge related to the analysis and application of big data in space science and business.
