Monday, June 13, 2022, at 13:00 at Room A1.109 there will be a class about MADOCA GNSS navigation system, led by two professors from the University of Tokyo and Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology ( Kaiyodai) giving lectures to students majoring in Space Engineering.
On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, Students of Space Engineering had a field trip to collect GNSS data in the morning, and practice data processing in the afternoon.
MADOCA has an accuracy of ~20 cm (about 100 times more accurate than civilian GPS) which can be applied in many fields such as precision agriculture, transportation, passenger and cargo transportation, user programming navigation, subsidence monitoring, navigation systems and many other applications.
During their teaching time at IU, professors were invited to have lunch at IU Canteen and were impressed by the excitement of IU students – normality quickly returned when the Covid-19 pandemic passed.
The professors also discussed with the Head of the Department and will offer 2 internships for students majoring in Space Engineering at the University of Tokyo and TUMSAT. Internship time and procedures will be discussed in detail after the professors return to Japan.
