Radio telescope for Space Engineering

On the afternoon of October 15, the “Radio Telescope for Space Engineering” project of the Department of Physics was approved by the Appraisal Council of Vietnam National University-HCM, expected to be implemented in 2021.

This radio telescope is a large antenna with a diameter of 5m, operating in the L (1-2 GHz), C (4-8 GHz), X (8-12 GHz), and Ku (12) bands. -18 GHz).

The radio telescope will be located on the campus of the International University. It will be a very important experimental instrument supporting subjects such as Signal Processing, Image Processing, Spectroscopy, Space Communication, Space Environment, Design and manufacture of antennas, and Radio Astrophysics.

The telescope not only serves students majoring in Space Engineering but also related majors at International University, other member schools of VNU-HCM as well as schools in Ho Chi Minh City. HCM.

The project will also lay the foundation to train engineers and scientists in the field of Space for Vietnam in general and the South region in particular, to join international projects in the future.
