Welcome new students majoring in Space Engineering 2021-2025

On the morning of October 3, 2021, the Department of Physics held a special ceremony to welcome new students of the Space Engineering major (SE) class 2021, lasting 3 hours with many interesting and rich contents, practical and frank. In this online meeting, the new students were informed about the training program, exchanged with the teachers, as well as the former students shared about their current work. In addition, the students of the previous class shared about their memorable experiences while doing internships at home and abroad, along with their experiences of attending summer schools as well as prestigious international competitions.

The Department of Physics trains engineers specializing in the application of satellite technology, with a focus on remote sensing technology and positioning technology. Students will learn knowledge from basic, basic to specialized, and applied, including:

– Math, Physics and programming. Signal processing and image processing.

– From there, students learn blocks of knowledge about remote sensing technology and positioning technology, along with additional knowledge blocks such as space communication, space environment, satellite technology, processing technology. create radio antennas, process satellite signals.

– Application knowledge to solve specific problems of big data processing (Big data), artificial intelligence (AI) in remote sensing, programming to create applications (apps) for mobile devices iOS operating system uses GPS navigation.

In particular, they have the opportunity to do research projects, do internships, do dissertations in agencies and companies, and research technology at home and abroad. This helps them grow up quickly in a professional and highly international working environment.

The training program has sent students to practice abroad such as: Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (ASIAA), Taiwan; Institute of Astronomy and Space Science (KASI), Korea; and the Institute of Space and Aerospace Science (ISAS – JAXA), Japan. Every year, there are 7 to 10 scholarships for excellent students to practice for 1 to 3 months at foreign agencies.

In addition, the Department also has cooperation programs to support students to practice at domestic agencies such as Vietnam Space Center, National Remote Sensing Department, information and communication technology companies such as: AI Talent Center, Fsoft company, TMA solutions company,…

The SE program has a 100% employment rate after graduation. Graduates of SE can work at companies in positioning, big data processing, AI as well as programming-related jobs. Currently, there are a number of graduate students working for FPT, Intel, TMA solutions related to big data processing, signal processing, etc.
